Wondered if anyone has had any problems with the jack point covers on FR sideskirts?

I took front drivers cover off and now i cant get it back on, i can hear it click into place but it just falls off after a light tap. I replaced the cover but still have the same problem.

I took it back to the garage i bought it from and its in now but doesn't sit flush, it protrudes the skirt, cant see how they fixed it in tho

Any tips on fixing this?

Had the exact same problem today mate. Took me longer to get the covers back on than it did to fit my anti roll bar!!

Try removing the screws on the underneath of the sideskirt. Once i did this the cover clipped easily into place. Then pop the screws back in and bob your uncle! :)

This might not work for you but it must be worth a try.

My tyre man has had trouble with these. They fill up with road crap as well, which doesn't make them any easier to get back on!

They are a PITA. I undo the screw inside the wheel arch and the one nearest underneath for the front covers then get your fingers under the skirt and it clicks in fine (with some force though). Clean the surfaces first though as it gets loads of crud under there.

For the rears, brute force and a good firm whack with the hand. I don't undo anything for them.

They all line up good when in - anything else means that they aren't on properly and could drop off.

Apparently they were designed to not fit easily to deter theft :| But i dont see how that works  They are a PITA and i have had them fall off on more than one occasion!

After alot of hard work i got it in. Never had time to try unscrewing anything and i was just getting annoyed with it!

Just used brute force to get it in, garage stuck it on with sticky tape..........monkeys!

Haha ye i had back one falling of all the time before i got annoyed and hit it in and it clicked into place.

Also got another wondering if you guys could help? I'm new to modifying but recently got my fr chipped, after a bit of tweeking its sitting at about 200 brake (based on figuers they give) but i'm wondering what would the benefits of a remap be?

Thanks

A case of trial and error mate. I had a situation recently where i thought i was dragging a twig along thinking it was stuck in the wheel arch. In fact it was one of my jack point covers!

Clean it up as much as possible and try placing in position and then 'hand slapping' them back in place. Alternatively use some double sided tape to stick in place which will come off if pulled hard enough when needed;)

Fit the cover into place as best you can then place one hand at the top of the skirt and push down slightly then then with the other hand 180 degrees from your hand holding the skirt down, tap the cover from underneath and it will click into place.

You will be amazed how easy this works.
