Think that is the case for most people on here mate! :(

Quick question for you, I notice you said you put an FR wheel in. Did you previous wheel have steering wheel controls?

Yeah it did, but this one had bluetooth i think because it had different controls than mine, so i just swapped over the controls from mine onto the FR wheel and it worked fine :)

I think it would be possible! But you'd need new steering wheel, new controls, new wires, the bit you press that you can see on the wheel, then get it wired in to dash then you'd need an aftermarket headunit too, it would be possible, but the parts are expensive and would take a lot of work.

Bit like retrofitting factory xenons, possible, just too expensive for it to be worth it.

Got back from uni this afternoon so had a go at the front drivers side strip.

After i'd got it off with a fair amount of residual glue/tape:

After i'd cleaned it up:

After a good go with sander to try get rid of textured surface:

And now sat the on conveniently sized radiator for 24 hours while the paint dries hard:

Then tomorrow i'll give it a quick go with sander and lacquer it!

some brilliant work here

Thanks!

Was going downhill today and could hear a noise coming from rear wheels, so tonight ive jacked it up and loosened off the handbrake cable and the noise has stopped, must have been the shoes touching the drum.

Anyway as i was turning the wheel i saw this:

Pretty sure thats an MOT failure so i need a new one! Checked the other side and its deteriorating but not split yet so may as well get 2 new ones.

But what are they called? Damper boot? Damper shoe?

Any ideas!?

FK AK's dont come with any :( JOM's do though and they're the same price!

No the split dust cover/bump stop is part of old suspension so its just wear and tear! New set ordered yesterday for £13 a side for new bump stops and new dust cover.

Some goodies arrived today:

Just been out and painted them up and offered the large grille up to the car and its too small :( Just checked the part number and its a PreFL Lower grille, not a facelift FR grille like i thought :(

So if anybody wants its, its free, I have no use for it!

Front bumpers coming off tomorrow because one of my fogs has gone out and im going to fit the new upper grilles :)

One of my rear dampers has done the same and my MOT's up in January? Are you sure it's a failure? I got my HID's to remove also for my MOT lol

MOT testers manual said:
STEERING AND SUSPENSION
• Any split dust cover now fails the MOT test i.e. ball joints, drop links, track rods etc.

Taken from http://www.seatcupra.net/forums/showthread.php?t=337020

I dont need to worry about MOT time now because a family friend has used to work for range rover and he said the dealer he used to work at will pass it with HID's, decats (not that i have one). So that saves me changing HID's and putting old wheels on (scrubbing wheels fails too).

On another note i may be buying a Cupra from some one on the forum! Finger's Crossed!

I dont know! They've really tightened up their belt! I dont think half their intended laws will actually come through though, because they've been trying to get rid of remapped cars for years. Not sure how they'd find out either.

You'll have to wait till january till them confirm the new laws then see what's what
