Well messing with its output is only going to whack the insurance up further than it would have been for a more powerful engine/car!

So that plan defeats what you are trying to achieve.

I don't think that you understand what happens to someone that modifies a car's ECU without telling their insurer, lots of people if unlucky enough to get involved with a car without insurance, ie get hit by it, might just want to take some serious action against the individual who knowing voided their car insurance - wake up!

Aren't you jumping to conclusions? Levo didn't actually say he wasn't going to tell his insurers.
But he is a very rude boy! :argue:

CanI just ask when did I say I wasn't gonna tell my insurer please??

Why don't you ask your insurer what effect on your premium would be if you remapped it to increase power by (say) 20 bhp? You might have a nasty shock.

I ain't doing it yet you don't know the full story simply, I used to have a car for 6 months then someone crashed into me, so I've switched this car onto it, when I have 1 years no claims which will be in 5 months now my insurance will be lower and remapping the car won't put the insurance up too much

Should switch and Get a 1.4 Eco Tsi FR. Will save you the headache, because with a remap you'll get around 135bhp max from your 1.2. With the 1.4 you'll get 140bhp available as standard. It would be cheaper swapping your car over to another Ibiza than trying to remap your existing one, especially when it comes to insurance prices.

These insurance companies don't like remaps and mods. Gives them a good way to ask for more money.
