After getting my car washed all the time for a fiver i thought i might as well buy some gear to do it myself ...

What do you guys think of autoglym .. i brought the whole package so i can polish my car too ...

Autoglym is one of the best WYSIWYG brands going.

From the basics of paint correction polish to hi def wax and sealants down to the basic tyre dressing AG is cheap affordable and very easy to use.

What did you get in you kit?

Autoglym is on the whole good. Im pretty sure they supply that kit with a sponge, throw that away and get a lambswool mitt, and do a search on the 2 bucket method.

Then as you get better at cleaning your car (detailing) you can look into claying, paint correction etc.

Basic detailing kit

2 buckets
1 wash mitt
shampoo
Drying microfibre towel
Polish (Super resin polish is one of the best imho)
Wax
Applicators and micro fibre cloths.

This is the core of a good detailing kit.

I detail cars in my spare time, and always use Autoglym products. Can't beat them for their quality/price ratio :)

I use all autoglym products with the exception of their dashboard cleaner because I find it doesn't quite give as good a finish as some others. I got a load of the stuff when Halfords had a 3 for 2 offer on but unfortunately they don't have it on any more. It gets quite expensive if you buy the full monty of stuff but you can get away with the basics.

Looking to spend some pennies on making my car shine for summer.
Wheres the best place to buy this stuff from? Are you cheaper online, or am I best just walking into halfords?

How much am I looking at to get all the basics in to start me off as well?
