just gone and snapped my gear linkage cable to my gearbox!

just wanted to know if anyone new where i could getr either new/used gearbox linkage cables for my 1998 ibiza gti its fitted with a 1.8 20v turbo but still got the 16v gearbox on it,

the car was had to get in gear the other day an then it started to get sloppy, got up this morning an found i could not select any gears, after a good look under the bonnet iv found one of the gear linkage cables has snapped, its the top one that has snapped,

anyone one got one laying around the the garage or know where i can get one or them both for cheap??,

stealership at i think was 120 a piece orr u can try a vw specialist garage they can order them faster then a dealer ship i found it a bugger aint it

becarefull i considered this option but they a bugger to get on and off and also u have to make sure there not stretched or weakened

dont go to dealer go to tps trade parts service thats where i got mine from £60 inc vat

dealer wasnt any more than 60 notes i dont think from when i did it a few weeks ago now

What i would say though, is dont bother with a second hand one... once you realise how much of a ball ache it is to get off... having to do it twice over youll regret it.

its an exhaust off, heatshields off, gear linkage dropped out the bottom of the car job though so give yourself plenty of time

i was looking for both so maybe the price was for 2 lol it was so long ago
