BUT I've done the research i've seen and felt them in action, and there is not as great a difference as some people make out
the general opinion is that the k03 is capable of 220ish peak figure and the k03s is capable of hitting 250s... but this is total rubbish and taking from different RRs across the UK.
i do not think that its not a good turbo. it IS better than standard, I just dont think its 'that' much better.
K03s's have been proven to run high 13's - fact
To be honest I bet most have this dilema. BT is always so tempting, just can't imagine how well it would pull. But i know the harshness of the ride and other little things would still niggle me whatever.. just gotts keep telling myself that![]()
no it has been your comments upon other similar threads, about righting off the K03s
well since YOU have done the research, it must make the rest of us wrong....obviously when I had the K03 and the K03s, the considerable difference i felt must have been imaginery
maybe it was all in your head....maybe you really wanted to feel a difference so badly to prove to yourself that it wasn't a waste of money that you convinced yourself? perhaps there was a massive difference....i dont know, i dont know you from adam....based on my research, and my experience and my own tight fisted personality....the k03s is not worth its value
if you truly went over to a k03s turbo from a k03 already fitted with the works, and felt a noticeable power increase, then good on you.
To me it sounds like your trying to make me out like someone that pisses on the k03s brigade....well in hindsight your not far off...i dont like wild, unproven and unrealistic claims that people have made in the past
perfect example today...Daz (who is a mate) made a statement about how well the k03s holds its power at the redline...and compared it to the k03, i replied in good humour and in comparison to his own car. we've played before on he roads...and his is obviously quicker....
did you mean downpipe? i was under the impression the kit you had fitted by h00ch used the stock k04 manifold?
must admit i forgot about the TIP, not so put off by DP as I was a few years back, it was the ebay link provided above that really got me thinking, if i wasn't going on holiday this summer i'd snap that up. watching it anyway just to see what it goes for. im guessing that it'll go for abit more than 500quid.
as for the custom vs generic...i'm a firm believer in the old saying "you get what you pay for" however I am not a believer in 'custom' mapping. never have and never will. I'd have to see proof in logs for myself of k04 Revo vs k04 custom map run side by side before taking a road trip to someone like Jabba. But since none exists its difficult
also , with the right manifold , a k04 could see the 300bhp figures , they say a k04 maxes out at about 280 ish, well thats what people always told me , but with a jbs manifold it gets over 300bhp
