read youre thread the other day, so thought id check it out to see if youve got it back. Gutted for ya! Should be mint when you get it 2moro hopefully.
And gotta say what a lucky fella you have a lass thats into her cars and detailing etc!
Do you know of any more ladies like u lol?
Thanks Tom Called today and it's still not quite ready, so will be looking like middle of next week now. Pretty gutted but never mind, will be worth waiting for Or I hope! Ha!
Aww, your making me blush!! Lol! Yeah I'm far more into cars and detailing than he is. I do the detailing on his Golf, he's never polished it yet!
Thanks again for the comment Check back once I have my baby home for some pics!
Cheers love Yeah hopefully. Thinking on heading to Elgin today to see it as have the other halfs Golf for the weekend Want to see how they got on with the front bumper, that was a challenge in itself! lol! If I do go will post up a few pics of the current state of it.
Today I went to see my LCR at the Bodyshop, 4 weeks today since I dropped it off! As long as it's taking, the progress so far has been fantastic condition wise. I could write away but I think I will just let the pictures do the talking.
The two Ovni doors are fitted to the car and whilst I was there they made me open and close them several times, just to make sure I was happy with the positioning of them. I really love their 'perfectionist' attitudes!!! Gives me piece of mind knowing it's in good hands. It will be getting sprayed this week but still might not be ready for next weekend, as it will need two full days of machine polishing.
The front bumper was the biggest challenge due to a crack under the N/S Foglight and all in behind it being cracked/broken. They have plastic wedled everything in behind and it's now ready for painting
The last pic shows where the crack was, what a fantastic job they have made of re-joining it! I am dead chuffed with how everything is looking.
Going by the average mpg, you can tell it's not a LCR Im driving! lol!
Lol! Don't tempt me, found an awesome colour now aswell! But that would mean stripping engine and interior, can't be bothered waiting any longer. Flash RED it is
Exactly Wayne. I did get a bit of a shock when I seen the bonnet right enough, it's down to bare metal.
I really don't mind waiting for it now, as after seeing it today I know it's going to be worth it. I can't wait to see the difference in it once it's done!
Yes, they explained how they will be spraying it and that you have to file down the paint, otherwise if you spray over paint that hasn't been rubbed down you get runs as the paint won't adhere to it ect. I got a full lesson is spray painting today! lol!
They also showed me the pics they have taken of it, step by step, which Im really chuffed about as not many bodyshops will do that.
Will be another week yet but it's going to be a cracking LCR once done
Haha, that is my only concern! I refuse to take my car to Tescos ect, always take my lads Golf so I certainly won't be taking it now! Will also be driving about 1 mile behind the car in front to try and reduce stone chips
