Key and Central locking problem!

Hi,

I've never had a working Fob for my car so i've always opened it using the key, over the last few days the key stopped returning to the centre when i locked/unlocked. Now the car will not unlock at all from the door, it will lock OK.

This also means the alarm goes off if i try to get in through the boot and still goes off enven when the car is started!!

Anyone have any advice?

p.s. the electric windows never worked either, only the drivers one when operated with the key downwards and the button worked to put it up! freaky car!!

sounds like you need a new barrel assembly when i got my ibiza the lock wouldnt do anythin then it fell apart and they key fob chucked it had to get a new lock assembly and all the springs and clips the barrel has an extension piece which goes onto the latch and opens closes it and the alarm is connected to the latch wiring i would go for a barrel assembly and for you windows try swapping a switch???

yeh i had same as above mate dont think the handle lock is ment for constant use i had a new assembley and handle cuz mine was broke. easy job to fix just pop out the handle and install the new assembly.oh i would get a new remote key while ure t here as well prevent any further problems.All this cost me around £200 not cheap and big pain in the arse.

Never saw these replies either! Yeah the lock was shattered due to the constant use, a quick trip to the scrappy got me a free complete handle and a key fob which programmed in!!

Then the fob stopped working and i've got some crazy issues, lol.
