Scenario... normal day drove car to university, locked it went around my business and walked back to car.. well i tried unlocking my car with key fob, no luck, LED on fob flash's like normal, red light on drivers door flashs, very odd, keep trying.. stil no luck, ended up having to go through boot and get in that way, took car to garage to get it checked guy seems to think ive scrambled to code by maybe having the buttons pressed whilst not in the vicinity of the car...

ok so we will code it for you sir... well about that i dont have a drivers door lock barrel, (its broke never worked lol) so cant re code it...

question is really, is there anyway of coding it without the drivers door lock? the mechanic has access to a diagnostic machine but this will be maybe 2-3 days time.

any ideas guys?

this is'nt going to help you but the mechanics comment about scrambling the code because you pressed the buttons on the fob while not in the vicinity of the car seems like a load of rubbish. I press the buttons on mine all the time while not in the vicinity of the car (usually bored waiting in a que or something) and its never affected my locking

Before you go paying for anything to be done - try the following.

1. disconnect the CAR battery & leave it off for 10 mins
2. Connect the CAR battery and then hold the lock button on the key till the car locks.

Mine was re-synchronised that way by a friendly ex vw tech near me.
