No still not sorted it pal, I have had a new knock sensor, I have had the wiring checked, I thought it was a bad re-map which was on the car before I bought it, so I had a new re-map yesterday but the fault is still showing . Don't know what to do now. [:@]

I have exact same problem! is it putting your car into limp mode?????? mine feels slow!:(
also replaced both knock sensors and torqued to 20nm 15 ftlbs! if i disconnect no1, it still comes up with fault 16711 wich points towards wiring! not had mine checked yet but its like theres a break?? pulling my hair out now[:@]

Yeah the car is in limp mode, I clear the fault, it goes like shite of a shovel, then about 2 mins later the fault is back on and back in limp mode, :help:, I have stripped the engine down this morning and found what looks like a little air leak on some breathers near the knock sensors, but can't see that bringing up a fault on the knock sensor!!, but fingers crossed, :banghead:

Where are these knock sensors? I recently had a code come up on vagcom for 'knock sensor 2' intermittent or some sort.

Sounds along the same lines. Cleared the code, but car isn't going into limp mode.

They bolt to the front of the cylinder block, Knock sensor 1 does cylinder 1 & 2, Knock sensor 2 does cylinder 3 & 4.

Been told the code 16711 knock sensor low signal, wont put the car into limp????
the small pipes under inlet manifold are prone to leaks! a boost leak can put it into limp!!!
Let me know if it works pal:confused:

Hi mate, i changed coil packs today and all was well:D
for about 2 miles then same again:cry:
I cleaned injector seals too,and now thinking of the fuel filter being blocked causing low fuel pressure under boost causing pinking, or maybe the FPR??
keep in touch, if i sort mine il contact you via PM mate!
