Knocking Noise After Lowering LC

Hi to all fellow members.

Had my 02 plate leon cupra lowered 20mm 3 days ago and only today i have got a knocking noise coming from the front passenger side.

The noise only appears when i go over a really bad bumpy road.

What do members suggest it maybe.

I thought at first it maybe the bump stops but a mate suggested the ball joint.

c0ould it be the ARB catching or it could be the ARB bushes....not sure though ane of the tech members will know.

Have you looked at bushes? could be torn (common fault)

just changed a ball joint on my car, no knocking just felt dodgey while driving it.

If it only just started since it was lowered, check they have done everything up properly.

Was ok for the first two days then noise developed.

When you say bushes are you refering to the one thats on top of the struts.

It might the drop links, one could have been a bit dodgy and now having had it lowered has put extra stress on it and it's given up..

no the anti roll bar bushes are the rubber bushes that hold it in place someone will have a pic

May have to take it to a dealer first thing to get it sorted as im supposed to be heading down southampton tomorrow - 740 mile round trip.

Dealer checked everything over a couple of days ago and found nothing out of place.

Today the noise is really bad especially over bumpy roads, so im going to get them to check the strut top mount as thats the last thing to check really.

Will let you know if i find out guys.

did you copper grease the top and bottom?

I'm having this exact same problem... passenger front side knocking right bad over any bumps (which theres alot of round my end!!!)
So far i've replaced top mounts, front and rear wishbone bushes, ARB bushes, fitted adjustable droplinks... And its still no different!!! . Its only lowered about 20-30mm so i would'nt of thought its the driveshaft rubbing the ARB. Driver side is spot on.
Nobody else had this problem and found out what it was?????

Are the exhaust mounts ok? theres one in the middle that can fail and produce knocking.

I had this and it was the top mounts, i changed the bushs and the bearings and it solved it.

I haven't checked them tbh but i had a new custom exhaust not long ago so would of thought they'd of picked up on a dodgy mount... It defo sounds like its coming from the front passenger strut or something, its really loud... sounds like a thudding metal on metal
