I have a 52 plate leon cupra and I have just tried to get the KVW100 to work with it and no joy.

The windows will go up and down when turned in the drivers door lock, this I presume so far is ticking all the boxes of yes this is suitable I believe.

Anyway went out, ignition on, insert KVW100, loud beep, green light.
ABout a minute later the beeping starts, but its not 3 like its says in manual (cough....sheet of paper)

And of course the windows not work with remote. Also done a disconect the battery for 1 minute as well.

Any ideas any one???:cry::cry::cry:

Just installed it on my 2001 cupra and works great. Sounds to me like you've got one that's been used before. These are use once only units and cannot be just again. Go back to the vendor and try for a new one.

Contact vag products and see what they say?, you might have a duff one. I doubt they would sell a secondhand one as they are the people stating they are one vehicle use only. You can use it again on the same car but only to resync it with the key IIRC.

They can only be used once, if you got it in a sealed bag its ok.

If its not compatible with your car, you can use it on a compatible car.

It dies after it funcions properly.

I think 3 beeps means its a no-go.

It only funcions on cars with the window confort module.

Do your windows roll up with one touch of the button ?
Can you pull your windows up manually with the key in the door lock ?

If not.. the KVW100 will NOT function.

Good Luck

Ahhhh MDS - you could be my saviour - I was hoping you might turn up ;)
Yeah it was in a sealed silver bag.

Lol the manual says 3 beeps and it is done, mine beeps continuous,
I spoke to vagproducts.com they asked me to count the number of beeps, I got bored after 30+

Nothing happens with the remote at the mo :headhurt::cry:
When I use the key in the lock I can windows up and down.

The green light come when plugged in, so I presume this means its connected etc

I have attached a scanned copy of their "INGRISH" Manual.

I am not sure you got the same thing, but it may explain something you may be missing.

OK.

First of all - Your car must have the "Confort Module" - Do you have it ? Seems so.

If SO ... The KVW100 MUST work.

If you have the module and it still does not work, I presume you may have some electronic errors prohibiting the function of the KVW100.

I suggest you check the car with VAG-COM and clean all errors.

Also take a quick scan of your confort module, it may have some errors too.

Then RE-TRY.

Mine was very simple .

Just

- PLUG IN KVW.
- IGNITION ON ( NO MOTOR RUNNING )
- BEEP

- DONE.

But like i said, check if you have the Confort Module and that its working perfectly by trying to close/open your windows with a one button touch (Driver electric window switch)

Maybe try and reset the car, Battery ON/OFF before trying again.

Make sure you have your radio code ready and also remember to rest your clock :D

Keep us posted... Good Luck.

Hey did you steal that off my desk. (yes I do have that exact sheet - but thanks :))

One thing I have noticed, is you say you plugged yours in first, then turned on the ignition.
I have put ignition onto reds (handbrake warning light etc) then plugged in the module.

Shall I plug it in, THEN turn the ignition on?!?

I have done the old battery on and off a few times. Annoyingly my locking has been playing up since I have tried this.

I believe so, when its inserted, theres a long beep and the green light comes on.
Some times as I stick it in the beep changes pitch - I presume this is when its not connected.

Below is what I've been posting to sales @ vagproducts.com

I believe my (Hella) remote is fine. I've always just given it a quick press and the doors open. Can't say I wait for the lights to come on, I just press and let go. The key battery must be fine as, it will work from a good 10 metres away.

NOTE: Sometimes after trying to install the kvw100 a few times. The remote key won't open the doors at all and I have to put the key in the door to unlock, then its seems to reset and I can use the key remote again, this is maybe after an hour. This explain anything

Do you not have a VAG-COM cable to check if your car is error clean ?

Have you tried contacting the blokes who sold you that ?

I got it from http://www.vagproducts.co.uk/kvw.html

They have been mentioning vag.com, so I think I need to find one near me in bristol. They have been helpful, but not really offered more than using vag.com to see what errors there are

What do I need to do then though, reset it, change some settings to on/off etc
