Lack Of boost prob

on long journeys my boost suddenly dies off and only boosts to about 6psi but normally boosts to around 20psi but if i am just doin low speed journeys e.g just driving in a residential area its fine but the problem arises when doin faster drives, is it going into limp mode?

searched but couldnt find any posts with same prob

No ! If it was going into gimp mode you would get no where near 20 psi boost !!! And your engine management light would come on !! Could be a few things mate !! check all of your vac pipes, make sure none of them are split !!!

when i get the problem it only boosts to about 6psi
but when its fine thats when it boosts 20+psi

do you have to switch the engine off for it to start boosting again or dose it just come back ?

not 100% sure but a restart of engine seems to clear the problem but as i say i cant confirm that

Best thing to do is to just get it vag com'd !! No point in second gussing !! Suppose you could try unplugging the MAF meter and taking it for a run !! See if that makes a differance ???

Sounds like it could be a dodgey MAF/N75 get it on vag-come to make sure mate
