Hi Everyone.
Has anyone fitted the hexagon/lambo style number plates to the rear of their Formentor yet?

Was looking at them the other day and reckon they’d look pretty smart given the contour lines on the rear number and the shape of the front grill/air vents etc.

Pretty sure there’s no issue with legality either, given the required minimum space from the letters to the edge of the plate is more than enough.

Completely illegal. All 3D / 4D plates are illegal, as are those that don’t have the correct (rectangular) dimensions.

Not strictly true… these are from the gov website.

There’s isn’t actually any mention of shape, just letter sizes an distances from each other etc. I’m not overly interested in raised characters but it does say quite clearly that they are allowed… assuming this is what you meant by 3D/4D

Yep. Been on the car for nearly a year with no issues. Have correct plate stamping confirming they are legal
Very nice. I think I'll look at getting some once I eventually pick up my Formentor. I take it the front plate is the usual shape rather than hexagonal?
