Hi guys. Im interested in havin launch control fitted to my lcr. Has any body got this? Does it kill the clutch? And is it good or does ur tyres act as a road polisher with the wheel spin? Cheers. Its stg 2 mapped if thats any help

have a look at racelogic. they do launch control, and full throttle shifting.

excellent fun.

Launch it hard and yes the clutch will suffer.

I've seen the WOT Box in action on an R32. I'm not sure how it worked but he put his foot flat to the floor and the revs locked at 3500rpm, I guess the perfect revs for a launch? Anyway this was at idle and out of gear and all the car did was pop loads, loudly and flame...not sure why this is though

electronic rev limit, but still lets you built up boost.

so you get a perfect, full boost launch.

sounds brutal :D

Launch control usuall places a 2nd rev limit say at 3500rm, the launch control software/hardware then modifies the ignition signal from memory, repeatedly cutting it at the set rpm, so you get partially unburn fuel etc

hence the pops and bangs. not ideal for long periods of time tho, shouldnt really be holding it for any more than 2 or 3 seconds.

Antilag by itself is different, however you can get 2 step launch control which is a mix of both Launch control and antilag.

WOT shifting jsut means that you keep the pedal floored then when you clutch in the software will automatically knock a set amount of revs off so before you slam the next gear home.

surley you'd want a button / option to engage the launch control ?

interesting though, could REVO map it as part of thier maps?

They usually work by cutting the spark to a cylinder which puts more load on the engine and forces it to boost.Something it won't do with you just sat there revving it as there's no load. The popping is because the fuel going into the cylinder having the spark cut doesn't burn so ignites in the exhaust.

Omex do some rev limiter/LC kits for about £100 or so.
