Lc 150 Tdi Excess Tyre Wear

Hi all you experienced rev heads.HELP.Took car in for 1st MOT a couple of weeks early.Got a nasty shock when it failed on front tyres. Never seen 1 wear like this.Inside edge taken right down to canvas in like an L shaped groove,deep tother front tyre on drivers side worn on inside edge not quite as bad but also failable.Anyone had similar problem.All bushes and suspension checked ok.Could it just need tracking? Anyway not all bad news at least know the tester well.He passed it with an advisory notice and told me to get it done pronto. 200quids worth of new tyres now.More expense.

Could need a full geometry check. Tracking, camber, toe etc etc. Get it done ASAP or else you run the risk of your new tyres going in the same way.

Also bear in mind a full geometry check is not the same as tracking alone and isn't something all garages can do.... so make sure you know what you're buying.

Mine seem to wear in the middle more than anything & they are not over inflated ???

They have lasted 25k miles though, but are like slicks now.......getting them changed today

Should cost around £60 from a decent garage.

Exactly what happened to me couple months back. Got new tyres on-line, took them to a local joint, they fitted and ballanced the wheels and did my geometry, bill came to £48, luvvly jubbly

Doubt it mate. For all Seat know you could have driven up and down the bumpist road in the world every day since the car leaving them. Tracking and geometery will change and need adjusting throughout the life of the car. Its just part of the running costs.
