lc boosting over 20psi after remap

is this normal? i only bought a 20psi boost guage as i was informed it will only boost to 18 after the remap, whilst driving around leeds (i ventured out for the week) i noticed the boost needle was going past the 20psi mark and continuing to go round after the guage has finished (not by too much though)

help?

If you know anyone with VAGCOM, get them to log your actual boost during a 4th gear idle to redline full throttle run.
You can then compare this to your gauge to see if your gauge is over reading, which is more than likely.

yeh ill try that, what psi should i be looking at, the guage only looks like its goin to 22 or 23 psi

You will have to ask custom code what boost their maps run at, as I am not sure.

My C-C stage two LC peaks at 22.5 PSI on the gauge. I don't think you have a problem.

when mine was just with the remap was 18psi and with the mods now its only 21psi

Need to get a decent gauge tho, as I only got a real cheapo one off ebay.

my remapped 1.8T 225 engine, holds over 20psi

my 265bhp lcr boost to 20psi, and holds most of the time across the rev line ,if it does drop off 18 is the min boost,must upgrade standard dumpvalve!! havent got round to it yet...
as for your high boost get another boost gauge and compare them!! or get one that goes to 30psi !! lol

Not all the way thru...as per your previous comments on the K03S, they "run out of puff" towards the top, but holds 20 before the drop off...sorry should have explained myself a little better...
