LCR front numberplate recess removal, big job?

Looking at removing the front numberplate recess like a few I've seen on here and just wondered if it's a big job? Is it a case of cutting it off or is it bolted on?

Pretty easy tbh take the bumper off cut the plate holder off the side bits slide out eBay race mesh abs find a bit big enough to fit the gap

on a similar note does anyone know where the guide is to do a debadged honeycombe grill?? i tried searching but couldnt find it

Why would someone want to remove the recess, is it just to get the plate back an inch or so as once plate back in place I can't see any other difference?
If it is to move back, why, do people prefer the look of it this way

There is no real guide just get some mesh and cut it to fit the grill and glue it In

It allows a great surface area of the FMIC to to be exposed to direct air flow and it looks cool at shows.
