Hey guys,
I changed the ARB bushes on my LCR this morning and found that my drivers front shock is caked in oil, I have my car booked in for mot next Friday so need it sorting ASAP, I currently have standar suspension with 30mm H&R springs.
I am struggling to find replacement front shocks anywhere, I have tried the obvious eurocarparts, gsf and eBay, can't get them anywhere except TPS and they want £75+vat each seems steep to me, any one got any ideas or recommend anything please?
Thanks

They are probably going to be main dealer only. So second hand is going to be your only option if you can find some.

Thanks guys, I'm just waiting on a couple of my local motor factors to do their thing for me and get back to me today, if I don't get any luck then second hand ones may be the way providing they are good condition....
Does anyone know of mk1 audi S3 front shocks are the same as the LCR? That could be another option as there is quite a few of these new ones about on eBay

I had the same problem, had to go to dealer for mine, cost me £169 for both inc vat! Would have been more only I had a friend on the inside, got me the best deal possible! So 75+vat is about right! No idea about s3 fitment, but unless you can be sure the second hand shocks are good, my advice is to bite the bullet and fit new ones, at least then your done with it! And if one fails you get it replaced free!

I think mk1 audi TT are the same too and I have read that Octavia vrs are the same, think I will get my local motor factors to order in a set of TTs and have a look first

The Cupra R, S3 and TT will fit fine but the damping rate will be the difference based on weight etc of the car.
