Lcr gearbox noise urgent help required

since i bought my lcr the gearbox has had a bad whine/grind/grumble noise whilst engine breaking.

drives fine and changes gear fine but only makes noise when i let off the accelerator.

i have split my box in half and cant see any bearings or gears damaged on the flywheel end of the box.

does anyone know what the problem may be? kinda need this looked at asap

How are you checking the bearings? They may not look damaged but be loose/out of tolerance.

im just going by visual inspection, is it the diff bearings that will be causing the problem? seeing as the noise is there in every gear pretty much?

i think mine was the layshaft bearings spinning in the casing

You would probably need to check the preload to determine if the bearings need changed or adjusted. Diff bearings are a common fault on 02m boxes

they maybe tight when you're trying to spin them with your hand but what about with 225hp going through them.

i had the exact same fault as you and it was the layshaft bearings the dealer had my gearbox out and stripped 3 times before they finally did what i told them in the first place and sorted the casing out.

touch wood its been fine since
