My car seems to pull to the left, I had the tracking done a while back at AMDs.

But it still pulls. If I hold the wheel straight it goes in a straight line but if I let go it pulls hard to the left.
The bushes are fine as are the top mounts. Just fitted 2 new tyres upfront to rule them out.
When i 1st got the car the steering was quite tough but very responsive.
Now it feels quite loose.

There isn't any play in the rack as AMD checked it.

Anyone had this or have any ideas?

Does it feel like more steering Input is needed to to turn one way then the other?

Mine is definitely not torque steer. I have to hold it I'm the middle to go straight otherwise I go left haha. I need to get the tracking looked at but the tyres don't have a weird wear? Any ideas?

James.

Oh I'm with you now lol my bad its easier for me to turn left than right.

James.

I also have the same problem! It just pulls to the left when i let go.. The steering wheel is also heavy and ive drove a golfmk4 anniversary and leon fr tdi 150 and they are both lighter steering than the cupra?

Mines the same if I let go of steering wheel at speeding goes off to the left, need to get tracking checked next week then ill re asses

Mines been like this since i bought it, to go straight i havta hold my right hand on the wheel with a little downward pressure, if i let go my steering wheel (naturally) sits at about 11oclock and the car pulls left.

Just had new wishbone/balljoint and bushes (inc topmount) on the left side, so its not going to be the camber of the road wearing it down.

I did read a RR on here of someone who finally got it sorted tho, not sure how tho.

I always understood it was a LCR thing. Mine pulls slightly left and I've had it tracked twice. Tyres wear fine and there are no other problems. It's just a bit "lefty".

Steering is naturally heavy too. I used to have a MK4 Gt TDi and it was like driving a go kart compared to the LCR, wouldn't go back though.

The quick rack in the LCR is naturally heavier than the other mk4 platform cars as I have anni also.

It's actually quite a common thing on all vag range to pull a little to the left. There setting them up this way from factory (think it's safety factor) have heard of many mk5 & mk6's (mainly gtis) taken back to dealers, tracked multiple times and owners still not happy that cars still pulling left. It's against vag recommendation but some places are moving steering wheel a a spline or two as a last resort on the insistence of some customers

have any one of your tryed driving in the other side of the road (sure when no other cars on THAT road your on!), do it still pull left? or is it neutral, or as i think it will pull to the right on the other side of the road. if this is the case your car is fine. if this is the problem it will only be worse if you fit larger tyres (wider and smaller profile)

All UK-spec/RHD LCRs will slightly pull to the left because they have the same tracking/suspension set-up as their LHD siblings - ie, set up to drive on the right-side of the road to compensate for that side's camber.

For example, drive an RHD LCR on a French motorway at a tidy clip, then take your hands off the wheel and the car will still track arrow straight :funk:

And IIRC, an LCR's OE springs are a wee bit stiffer on the left-side to compensate for the driver's weight?

Are you saying we're fat? [:@]

As said by other users the LCR suspension is set up for driving on the right due to mainland Europe so it's normal for it to pull to the left on UK roads.
The effect is amplified when you boot it as the car will also torque steer to the left however ESP tries to minimise this as much as possible.

No I'm not, but it seems that you are paranoid.

The LCR's final suspension sign-off/testing was performed by SEAT Sport - it's normal practice to adjust a racing car's corner weights to compensate for the driver in order to achieve, hopefully, perfect weight distribution.

Iv just started a thread with the exact same problem on my LCR lol Ohpps..

Well firstly im glad to say that im not alone with this situation! Very tempted to get in contact with a Seat main dealer and ask to speak to a mechanic, see if they've ever had anybody complane about this.

If a large number of people are experiencing the same thing then it must just be a Leon thing,

Dose anybody else's steering wheel have a slight vibration at around 70-80 mph? thought the bearing left had something to do with this??

Might just be time to order in the poly bushes and strut braces to stiffen the beast up :)
