Hi all,

I want to inspect the vacuum system under the inlet manifold properly, so I want it off.

However, whats it the proper way? I read somewhere about depressurizing the system etc.
Which I believe, could end up with fuel all over the engine bay, if not done correctly?

Any hints/pictures/guide etc?

Once you have removed the fuel rail fold it to one side so its out of the way undo the 10mm bolts and the two nuts then the two hex bolts holding the trim on at the front then the two hex bolts holding the metal bit at the front, and remove the inlet mani, should take you about 15 mins.

If you want to depressure the fuel take out fuse 28 with the engine running, also maybe install a phenolic gasket while the fannymould is off??

Ok, went out and took an extra careful look at the inlet manifold.
I simple cant see how its possible to remove the fuel rail from the inlet manifold, without having to seperate injectors from the manifold. Which means I have to depressurize the system first.

No you don't you only need to do that if you take them out of the rail, the injectors pull out of the inlet manifold they are only held in via the "O" rings, the hex bolts hold them in place but you will have removed them, to get the rail off, it may feel like they aren't coming out when you pull on the rail but they will, believe me i have done this loads of times.

Ok, thanks, sorry for doubting you, but i just have to make sure i know what I am doing, so I dont get myself in a situation i cant fix afterwards..lol

Definitely Replace it if damaged.
They are cheap (Well here they are) so good idea to replace anyway but not end of the world if you don't.
Ofcause, if damaged )
I dont think I can get hold of a gasket before the weekend, so might just take it off anyways and take a look at the hoses.

If the gasket if screwed, it just a bonus to find an error:D

Before taking the manifold off, i found a majorsplit/crack on one of the the plastic tubes under the manifold.

So started to tear it down to see how much was split.
Two of the splits are the classic ones, Forgemotorport do a set for them. Marked 2 and 3 on the picture.
However, the split marked with 1 seems wierd, but the plastic is just cracked.

Additional question, even though i cleaned around the injector seal before taking the injector out, and cleaning around the manifold(pressure from distance/vacuum cleaner). but tiny stone/debri is visble around the valves.

I could suck some of it out with a vacuum cleaner, but some are still left there? I dont see as super with "stones" in there, but should I worry?

I'm planning on removing my inlet manifold soon. Do you need to replace the O rings for the injectors aswell?

Ideally yes especially if you see moisture/fuel marks around the injector hole on the inlet manifold, i did mine and you can feel the difference.
