purely cosmetic mate

splitters like this would only ever make a difference on high performance/race cars i.e. downforce, but unfortunately as much as we like to think our Seats do qualify for this, they dont quite have the same effect he he

Unfortunately, that's spot on. This splitter is probably too small to make a difference anyway (take a look a the Cupra championship versions, http://idwmotorsport.fotopic.net/p13710599.html - they're huge!) but the theory is that air can't pass under the car from front to back, so an area of low pressure is created under the car which sucks it down to the ground (in other words, it creates downforce).

Heh, whaddya know? I still remember some of the stuff I learnt at uni...!

just realised this has a different grill to mine, anyone got an idea how much this grill kit costs, as mine has a slat type grill on my 01 cupra, and Simsy has a honey combe effect which looks really nice

Just spotted your question HarveyGTI, The MY03 honeycombe grill mod was a right bugger to do, found a grill off of ebay. You have to hack it to bits to get it to fit and it's a full on bumper off job.

You can get the parts, (can't remember the part numbers) from Seat.
Cheers for the comments though.:D

no worries mate

think i will leave it

im suprised at how well the splitter suits the older style Leon, pleasantly surprised and have already ordered mine Sat just gone:D

I used a small hacksaw to trim mine, couldn't find my dremel thingy anywhere... sod's law!

IMO the splitter suits the older bumpers better than the facelifted Cupras, the lower centre section seems to fit the overall design better... anyway its improved my car no end
