Timing belt is needing replaced at a cost of £300 supplied and fitted with waterpump etc however is it worth buying the parts from seremotors and gettin a garage just to charge for the labour??? what have you guys done when it comes to getting belt replaced?

Cheers Davie

Whatever you do, don't shortcut :)

Drove home tonight on the motorway and came across a dead Vauxhall Zafira on the hard shoulder with snapped timing belt in the 3rd lane!

I'd try the garage route for just charging labour. Thats what I did. I bought my bits from sere motors and my sister in law's brother changed it for me. You just end up spending a fortune otherwise

My belt is due this autumn, wanted a genuine waterpump but theres a surcharge on them from tps, as they get recycled so might be getting a gates kit from a factors....

depends on the cost to me though as i work for a seat/skoda specialist
