LED Boot Light replacement causing boot open warning

Hi all, new to the forum and posting on behalf of my partner. She bought my mums old car. MK3 Leon FR.

Never had an issue with it. However recently the internal boot light went. I replaced it with an LED unit. Chinese one from Ebay yes haha.

And now, works lovely but when you open the drivers sun visor mirror. It says boot open on the clocks. When you close it it goes away. You can sit and open and close it and repeat.

I read on here some guy had a similar issue and had to put a resistor in he said.

Just looking for some light on this. Hopefully the guy I read previously can see this.

Sounds like a faulty bulb. Just change it. I've had LEDs in both the boot and sunvisor lights on my previous and current Leons, and never had a problem.
