I've tryed a new bulb with the bad ballast and nothing.looks like it will be a new set of ballasts . And I don't know why others change to hid's,but personally I hate yellow light, and I personally find the white light from hid's make me less tiered driving at night.thanks.

My bulbs are the standard factory ones....i can see perfectly well at night with them....cant see why people would want to change them

That's exactly it, at least for me. At first I installed HIDs to my regular reflectors, not necessarily because I couldn't see well at night (although we have some really dark, screwed up roads with loads of pot holes and surprising speed bumps) but mostly because I just love the way they look at light up the road in front of you. I then decided I'd be better off with projector lenses, so I tried retrofitting to my original head lights and ended up screwing them over, then got head lights from Dectane and now everything is smooth.

I used to have 130W halogens in the spot lights on my Landcruser. Great when I pulled up behind a car and switched them on - being mounted on the bull bars they shone straight through their back window and lit the inside of their car up.

I've grown up now though and don't do silly things like that anymore

You obviously haven't seen the size of a Landcruser battery. It's huge!

I agree with you totally. However, have you ever driven a car with Xenons at night? If you have you will know why these sort of threads exist.

Especially if they're 55W ballasts. It's like driving in the day even though it's 10 PM.
