Led sidelights dont work help please

hi i just fitted led sidelights but they keep going out after five seconds and i get a light come up on the dash. can anyone help? im new to this so not sure if im going the right way about it. any help would be appreciated

I had this problem with rear leds, wrong earthing, +ve instead of -ve, as I recall...

do you know how to get round it? ive seen other leons on here with it done, i just cant figure out how

Due to the low current draw they computer thinks a bulb has popped, hence the dash light coming on & the power cutting off.

I fixed by fitting some PIAA ones made for European cars with this feature.

Bloody hell Jace, that's an expensive solution to just wiring a resistor in place or putting a normal bulb in the circuit to fool the ECU.

I bet the still still looked good, do you use your sides lights more than the main beams?

kwl can you give me a more detailed idea of how to do it the leds look so much better, does this mean im guna have the same problem when i go to change the number plate ones?

Depends which lights are in the bulb warning system - maybe DanGB knows if it can be disabled via vagcom as that would be cheaper AND easier.

also has anyone had any luck fitting the hid conversion kits? and are they any good?

extra lamp holders from the dealer ? would need to find the part number ...I will defin get HID when i get my car its brighter and also uses less watts hense saving more fuel! lol, (thats what i seen so far..) most ppl from the forum has got the 6000K temp ones.

they do look realy nice and a friend of mine swears by them. i really want to get these leds fitted do you know if using a resistor would be easier than fitting extra lamp holders?

I don't think i can answer that one for you mate...but those LEDs...I would just get the PIAA ones what jace said but thats just me tho. Resistor would be loads more cheaper i would think.

got a pic of how they are fitted? or was it as simple as just pluggin in to original bulb holder then into the hole?

also, do you have xenons? what do they look like nxt to them?
