Led sidelights dont work help please

got a pic of how they are fitted? or was it as simple as just pluggin in to original bulb holder then into the hole?

also, do you have xenons? what do they look like nxt to them?

They clip into the original side light bulb, & from there it goes to to sealed resistor thingy widget, the bulb has its own fitting which just replaces the original

You know the HIDS4U Kit makes sense..its a really good bit of kit. Not had a chance to use mines though seeing its Summer and it doesn't get dark here till about 10pm!

You know the HIDS4U Kit makes sense..its a really good bit of kit. Not had a chance to use mines though seeing its Summer and it doesn't get dark here till about 10pm!

Have you had your car mot'd yet? I seen a video on youtubesaying that some of the HID kits aftermarket fitted could be illegal because of the light scatter pattern or something? Just wondering if they are defo road legal or not.

i have heard that too but my car is only 3 months old so im well ok for a while, then i guess il cross that bridge when i come to it, it mite be worth gettin them checked out before the MOT it saves a failure

they are actually really nice that could also solve the led sidelight problem with the rite no how, they would just need to draw power from the sidelights which would give the computer a dummy supply making ure sidelights work and also giving the strips power. a good idea id grab them quick if i was u

Most people on here would say your a chav if you put these on your car or trying to be an audi but if placed correctly or a bit differently like to light up the mesh on the front bumper (if you know what i mean, like the mk4 golf in the middle of the r32 and another mk4 on the pics in that link) I think they would look good but then you would have to replace all other lights as they would look yellow next to them

a true point, ive put leds in the lights above the rear view today but i noticed when the lights are off the two spots are on very very dimly any1 had this?

use the blue glassed mk3 Cupra R sidelight

lights as good a white and you wont get any sensor hassles then

fit one in one side and stand back - makes original ones look dark orange

what do you think i have in there in my pic ! i have the whitest ones you can get mate, philips vision something or other. but look at them against the xenons, just looks yellow! we need leds!

those do look yellow to me but i might be able to buckshee you some R ones to try if you like - at least wont cost nowt

sod the bulbholder - just check which wire is +ve and splice it in line ? easy enough

Retro-fitted HIDs are illegal.

1. The headlamp unit (outer lens, reflector, bulb) shall be type approved to ECE 98 and be "e-marked" to demonstrate this. That can only be done by the headlamp supplier - Hella, Valeo etc. who must test the headlamp in an independent laboratory.

2. Once fitted to the vehicle it must have headlamp cleaning and self-levelling (which can be for the headlamp or can be in the vehicle suspension - some expensive estate cars have "self-levelling suspension" and that is adequate). Also the dipped beam must stay on with the main beam.

3. The headlamp must be maintained in good working order, kept clean, and aligned/adjusted correctly like any other headlamp.

Under the Road Traffic Act 1988 it is an offence to supply, fit or use vehicle parts which are not legal.

In summary it is not permitted to convert an existing halogen headlamp unit for use with HID bulbs. The entire headlamp unit must be replaced with one designed and approved for use with HID bulbs and it must be installed in accordance with the rules stated above.
