yeah i will be whipping the bulbs out for the MOT... doesnt matter if they see the Ballasts as long as the bulbs arent HIDs...

hmm i can get a good deal on Lamin-x so might have a go...

wonder if the dibble will give me aggro... being a "typical essex boy" as ive heard before lol

lamin-X Subtle smoke, thats what ive done, easy to applied, protects headlights, doesnt reduce headlight by much/if at all.

the dark smoke is nicer for the dark dark look but really drops your light :(

fly eye just looks cheap in my opinion :(

with my car being silver i cant see the point in a subtle tint... most wont even notice it!

so im thinking about going for gunsmoke... as said i have HIDs anyway... but then theres the indicators

mines silver and u do notice it.

i also have hids and gun smoke made the light brightness horrible if im honest.

up to you dude :)

It should be OK until you get to your MOT and they'll invalidate it due to the HIDs.
Rules they be a'changing.

That's rubbish they are not changing at all regarding lights, i had a chat with my mot tester last week and he said that there where no new rules being introduced regarding hids.

if a MOT tester fails your lights for having laminex on them - Get a new MOT tester

Mot test rules are a standard that can be interpreted differently by each individual - the testers are taught if you are 1% unsure wether its a pass or fail then pass and advise the item

Subtle Lamin-x , nice! throw Neil an email at Lamin-x, see if he can do a seat cupra net discount

huh? is there actually a neil at laminex? lol im just an ol mot tester tis all

Its not rubbish at all,
I too spoke to an MOT Tester who just happens to be a very good and personal friend and he said that with the new regulations that have come in they will be checking for HID Kits in non HID Lamps.

Should they find them they have the right to fail them.
Rubbish it all you want, thats fine I dont really mind. I've used HID's right up until the LCR.
So I dont really care either way.

Airbag warning lights
MIL lights
Seat belt pre-tensioners
Battery security
Wiring looms
Headlamp bulb and unit incompatibility
Illegal engine 'chipping'
New diesel emission limits for vehicles registered on or after the 01st July 2008

My friend had just come back from his MOT Refresher course.

Again... Doesn't bother me though I dont use HID's and I dont have a problem with correctly installed ones either!

they cant check to see if your car is chipped though. Unless they dyno them?

Hi i am thinking of getting my headlights tinted onn my white 2012 Supercopa and apparently there are 3 grades of smoked look, the lightest grade passes MOT in the UK & the darker two fail MOT.
Is this true?

I was once suprised by a green traffic light that nearly crashed into me as I pulled out of a turning.
Heavily (heavly?) tinted headlights might be kewl, but not best on a motorbike at night.
