Havent done a "dyno" on the LG - its going on the RR! LG dyno needs to be in 3rd from 70 - maxed out isnt it? 3rd runs to 120mph and of course, dont wana be doing that on the public highway mr pc plod man! lol!! Or am I thinking of the wrong thing? does the dyno run work like the 0-60? hummm, she did 7.4 standard with just the exhaust on - cant wait til trials next wknd

no i did it the same as a power run on vagcom bud, 3rd or 4th is up to you but that run was 3rd .

Yer 120 in 3rd.................... I do always wonder if mines a standard box! 4th does 145 give or take, i wasnt looking too close - but slipped into 5th at over 150 when I looked as was getting a bit of side on slide due to cross winds on the autobahn.

so were you on the motorway, poped into 3rd and then booted it?

Cupra's and the sport have 6 speed sure the 1.6 have 5 speed.

Yup mines the 6 speed. But going on redline speeds, not max torque changes:

From 1st 0-40
into 2nd at 40mph
into 3rd at 120
into 4th at 145 ish
into 5th im not looking there!!!!
Slipped into 6th "cruising" at 155 and still pulling at about 5k rpm!!!!!!

Is this "normal" cupra gear box behaviour?

ps these speeds were on the autobahn and in no way on a uk public road - also top speeds wernt sustained for long as didnt want to do any damage, just do a short blitz

sure the 1.6 have 5 speed.

most of time i'm lucky to get 150 but slightly down section of this private track i named the m5 i nodge close to 155

I know, and ive always wondered if my gear box is a bit different - even put a post up last year about it but to no avail! Mates TT's are certainly different! their 3rd maxes out at 80/90 ish, not 120! and in 6th at 70mph im doing about 1700 rpm, they are doing more like 3k rpm!

Sounds like you've definitely got a different box in there then Andy although who knows what. If you're under it one day then try to look at the stamp on it.

Humm, think I know what im doing this wknd! move FMIC core up, attach color coded splitter, oh and see what frigging gear box I got!!
With those gearings you woulda thought its set for cruising, but its ruddy quick to 60

Right it deffo sounds like you've got a diseasal 6-speeder in there, that has a massively long final drive lol.

I reckon either an 'ERF' or an 'FJW' box.....

Ill have a goosey gander at the wknd, what "should" the code be?! And any harm if it is a fuel of satans gear box?
Guess the codes on the bottom and easy to see - just for my own sanity while I hunt! haha
