On a very positive note:

What do you find great about this car?

I love how the car looks like a 3 door with the integrated rear door handles!

On a material note - my favourite bit about the car is actually the sport seats.. they really are some of the most comfy I have sat in - my mk1 sport seats were largely the same but the mk2 ones just seem that much more firm yet comfy!

The Bluetooth kit is brilliant too - even with a windows mobile 6 phone!

I have said it a few times on here already, I can only describe it as sublime. First year's service in two weeks. Still grin like a kid at Christmas whenever I get behind the wheel, even when I'm just popping to the shops.

If I have to list fave bits (in no particular order):
Power delivery, handling, seats, interior, xenons, looks, exhaust / engine sound, brakes, steering wheel, gear knob, rear door handles... etc. etc. ok so that's about the whole car really :D

and I thought the R was a good car..... this is streets ahead in std. form, even with all the mods my R had.

Engine, brakes, driving position and seat are what do it for me.

Oh yes the engine, thats why i bought it.
Like Syphon i find it streets ahead of my old Revo'd LCR.
So smooth, tight and the turn in compared to the Mk1 is excellent.
I've had this one remapped and the performance/acceleration for the money is amazing. :)

The Sport was the cheapest car with the 2.0T FSI engine in it, and the FR proably still is!

Nice to have a good positive thread on here for a change.... too much doom and gloom normally....

What i Love about my TDI FR

Looks - real head turner even standard

Driving position/seats - so comfortable and i really really struggle to see why people complain about the ride.....

Kit - its got absolutely EVERYTHING and more.... well at least as much as a lot more expensive cars

Speed - the way it drives, hugs the corners and if you catch 3rd gear right out of a corner its superb!

But most of all i love the way i cant wait to do my crappy commute to work on the M20 and M25.... i actually look forward to it.... and weekeds its any excuse to drive somewhere, anywhere, just somewhere please!!!!!

Similar to Dan really

£14.4k for a brand new 2.0T Fsi with (almost) all the toys as standard. It felt like I was almost stealing it from the dealer when you look at the Golf/A3 2.0T competition.

Just done my negatives, so good points:

Performance
Economy (well it's just about acceptable)
Brakes (some say they are oversensitive but I think they're great)
Handling (the Cupra on the track day was really impressive)
Equipment (generally good spec for the money)
One of the only 5 door cars that actually looks good.

From a Sport TDI point of view - power delivery (more refined & free revving than my previous PD130), handling, seats, dual climate control, steering wheel controls, & sleek but subtle looks.

The comments I got in the FR whenever I gave colleagues a lift. The constant whines of "sir I want your car" from my year 9 class hehe

I haven't got it yet, but it's just general value for money in comparison with all its rivals, and eye catching looks, styling, availability in a (nice) yellow and..... DSG!

1) Suitable for carrying 2 children in ISOFIX compatible seats
2) Good mpg for a power with given power output
3) Ample headroom for power upgrades and modifications with the standard turbo
4) Jet Fighter Cockpit geel due to shallow A pillars (This is just the kid in me)
5) Alfa esq rear door handles
6) 3 Door Hatch appearance
7) Large beta testing available from the Audi / Skoda / VW marques for the engine
8) VAG-COM
9) Q car element and performance that is not undeserving of a Q car
10) Brake disc size
11) Torch / Umbrella / Pipe Bomb straps on either side of the boot.
12) Decent Air Flow Vent
13) 16v instead of 20v so that the engine revs better
14) Not a Ford / Volvo / BMW / Vauxhall
15) Other drivers do not have the stereotypical attitudes as for the marques above
