Hi All

I am now the proud owner of a mint 2001 Leon Cupra, very happy with it indeed

anyway when i was originally inspecting the car, i had some trouble opening the bonnet...eventually managed to get it open and i believe the erm "button" cant think of a better word to use is missing, as i physically had to move the greasy bonnet catch to open the bonnet

is it easy to get a replacement?

Sometimes they get a bit stuck if a lot of road grit and dirt has stuck to the grease. The pull out catch is normally there but it just hasn't popped out through the grill. When you get it open clean up with wd40 and remove as much dirt as you can then re-grease. If it's not that, I have heard of some peoples catches actually breaking in which case obviously you would need a new one. Always keep your fluid levels topped up if you think this is going to be a regular problem until you get a fix!

Yup! :cartman:

Pull the lever under the dash, by the door.
Then lift the bonnet a tiny bit and a small lever will pop out next to the 'S' badge.
Yank that and hey presto, you're in :D

I am just putting my coat on now and calling a taxi....

ok so found the catch, and me and my mate were looking at it over the weekend, the catch is getting stuck and not popping out properly, although if you manage to get it out, then it does do the job properly....

any suggestions?

used loads of WD40 and it has not done the trick
