Leon clutch problem

Hi guys,

I've read through the sticky about the common pedal problem but this is a little different.

Went out to the car this am to find the pedal on the floor so pulled it back up by hand & it's now jammed solid in the up position, can't move it at all.

I drove it last night & no problem so I can only assume it "went" as I parked.

To make matters worse it's parked pretty much up against a wall so I can't open the door fully to have a proper look. I can't see any plastic in the footwell so I fear it's something more expensive

Any ideas?

Thanks

Sounds like the. Master slave cylinder has gone. Or it may need to be bled. Also check the brake/clutch fluid it may be low.

A new slave cylinder is about 30quid from gsf parts or eBay.

If you can get it bled that May fix the problem. Sometimes the pressure is lost or a airlock gets in the system causing the pedal to drop.

I had it on a vw bora and got away with bleeding the msc. Be careful though as the bleed ipe can sometimes sease and snap when you loosen it!!

have you had a close look at the pedal, just to check if the master cylinder rod has come out of the white clip and got stuck. this happened to me the other day.

i had exactly the same problem a few weeks back, i feared the worst but was a simple fix after, turns out it was because my rear pads were so low it dropped my brake/clutch fluid below the lowest limit in the reservoir, apparently this can cause the pedal to hit the floor too
