Hi Everyone.

Yesterday, I took 2019 Leon Cupra 290 into a performance exhaust shop for a custom resonator removal to be done.

I wanted the option to be able to re-install the resonator back into the exhaust system so a custom resonator delete was the only option as I don't have a welder.

The exhaust was cut and a flange was welded onto the back box part of the exhaust pipework.
Flanges were also welded onto the new resonator delete pipe and original resonator - It's literally just a bolt off and bolt on jobby now.

I'm guessing I've been one of the lucky ones as my car doesn't have the Dual GPF so a resonator delete was possible.

I've got to say that it sounds great, It doesn't drone too badly under normal acceleration but as soon as you floor it, it sounds absolutely amazing.
The pops and crackles that are produced seem to last longer, and also seem a lot louder.

Is there anyone else that's done a 2019 Resonator Delete that wouldn't mind showing off theirs?

I'll get a video uploaded later on in the week.

I believe the dual GPF system is only on the 2019 300 ST versions. All hatchbacks have the same system you have. Mines goes in for resonator delete on Tuesday morning, 2019 290 too.

Did my 290 2 weeks ago and it's certainly saved 7 to 8oo quid on a sports jobby. The sound I think is better than some of the high end systems I've heard.

It will be interesting to see if this is as effective at it is on the 300, also i wonder if it will bring the dsg noise back as it seems to be missing from the 7 speed

i have now ordered the Zaustworx pipe from ebay. fitting on Monday
I'd be interested to see if there is any difference between this and the VAG sport alternative other than the big difference in price. I've been debating the two for my Lux due in a few weeks.

If you click this link it will take you to another thread with a member called Titchy who has had both the Zaustworx and the VagSport and he seems to have preffered the Zaustworxs. he has just uploaded videos last night showing the static sound of both. they are on a pre WLTP 300 Estate
