after owning a few mk1,s i decided to push the boat out after selling my ktm and mk1 cupra r and invest in this .. i got it from a seat dealer in belfast after a tip off from my mate who valets for them , i got it with 32k miles fssh and already stage one but standard bar that . must admit i love it plans where to eibach it wheel refurb and paint the front bumper due to a small scuff .. must admit i still prefer the older one for looks ..

my old mk1

new one when i got it

was de badged when i got it

after the wheel refurb in a mitsubishi gun metal . closest colour to renault clio f1 wheels

eibachs fitted that day . went for sportlines for that bit lower . havnt settled in pic sits a tad lower now

ordered a tripple r splitter also from kev (great guy ) took slightly longer to fit than i first thought due to one of the bolts being threaded but got there in the end and well worth while purchase

then i set about looking for a replacement o e m rear cupra badge but decided on something a little different so made to exact o e m size and font and domed the sticker . i love the result prob a bit marmite but hey its better than no sticker imo

next plan is to underseal it get the new tripple r rear defuser possible space the wheels slightly and leave it the way it is after that

comments welcome

Nice car,how come your undersealing it?
Ive never seen a rusty seat(underneath) for years

i intend to keep the miles low and want the underneath to last through our winters and crap road salts prevention is better than cure just

Both look really nice cars mate.

The Mk2 looks the great with the front splitter, I think gloss black wheels would make it look even better.

a good friend of mine has his own wheel refurb company so for buttons i can change them . as much as i like the grey i think you would be bang on the money with the black considering mirrors splitter etc are black

Pre facelift looks so much better than the face lift! More aggressive front end, triple R splitter just sets it off! I neeeeed one!
