Just bought myself one of these:

1J0 959 753 AG/CT 434 MHZ NEW VW SEAT TWO 2 BUTTON FLIP KEY FOB
(can't post the URL, but its from ebay seller "key_service" recommended earlier)

Hopefully its the right one! I think I've followed previous posters instructions, but I guess we'll see... Be good if I get this by the weekend so I can have a play!

Wow... Took a while to read all this thread... Glad I did tho as my key has just stopped unlocking the car on the remote and the local stealers want £200+ for a new 2 button key supplied and programmed!! Think I'll save myself a few pennies and buy one myself from one of the many links on here and then take it to dealers to be programmed rather than trying to swap the transponder over as I'd like to have 2 keys rather than just 1 working one.

it's not that confusing. Just read back a few pages & you'll see i've listed the correct leon part numbers several times ;)

The part number for the remote in the link isn't anything i've heard of before & certainly isn't for any mk4 Golf's etc i've done keys for

To save you the trouble of reading back a few more pages here's the part number you need

1j0 959 753CT 2 button remote
1j0 959 753DA 3 button remote with boot unlock

Sorry if I've missed! Will a HLO1J0959753AG work? I've looked through lots of stuff on here and not seen it. I have a 52 plate leon.

Ha! Trawling through 15 pages of this stuff I thought I'd seen it all! Should have started at the end! Thanks for your help though buddy!

Ok, I give up. I have my fob, synced it with the car and sorted out the transponder by taking it from my original key. All is working perfectly fine - apart from the fact that I can't find anywhere to get the key cut!

I tried Timpsons, and they said that they won't cut keys that they haven't supplied (tried 3 different ones, just in case!), and any independent key cutters seem to either not do car keys or don't have the right equipment to do mine!

Has anyone got any suggestions - I don't want to spend a fortune. I'm in Warwickshire, if that helps?

how many cut & working blades do you have? if you have 2 you can send me 1 with your blank & i'll do it

Nice one! Yes I have 2 so it would be possible - though the only way for me to turn the alarm off at the moment is with the new fob, but I can deal with that for a few days (or however long it would take?).

How much would you charge?

just keep the fob part for the alarm & send me the flip head with blade attached. Just keep the fob attached to your basic key by keyring till i've sent the flip head back

it's £5 plus couple of quid for return postage. I'll send it recorded delivery

I've searched hi and low to find the answer to my key issue but nothing seems to do the trick. Basically about a year ago the battery went in my remote key for my 53 plate leon cupra. Replaced the battery and it worked fine for a while then stopped working completely. Tried any of the pairing methods I could fine but nothing worked. I left it as I lost interest I'm the car and just used it manually. Recently I have rekindled my love for the car so have been sorting bits and pieces and picked up myself a new flip key.
I've tried pairing it to the car using the 2 key ignition on method etc, but on the second push of the unlock button it just sets the alarm off.

Can anyone shed any light on this? Sorry for the essay.
