Looking at buying a new seat Leon fr cr 140 tdi 12 plate from my local garage, just wondering what can you get out of this engine from a remap, because I have heard its the same engine as the 170 tdi.

Any info would be great

Cheers guys

From memory a mate of mine had a 140 a while ago and he had it mapped to 175 - 180

Cheers for the replys guys, but this is what I can't understand, if its the same engine as the 170tdi why can't it be remapped to what the 170 can ei 200bhp?

Just to confirm although it might be the same block, the turbo and mapping etc are different

Same as the PD140/PD170 which was similar but different

like a lot of people said that the engine on the FR is the same as on the Cupra, the single difference being the turbo, so you will find on the 140-170 engine...

I think there are differences, look at the FR vs Cupra engine:
- new ECU
- larger turbo-charger
- reinforced pistons and engine block
- strengthened connecting rods
- new ultra-heat-resistant alloy for the cylinder head
- larger fuel injectors

(after this comes bigger brakes, bigger disks, lower and harder suspension ++)

And yes, all this for 40 more BHP...

Yes CR engines, think I am going to buy this one I have seen 61 plate leon fr 140tdi caddy white 8000miles 1 owner under warrenty £13.500 what you guys think? I will get some off that price going to offer them cash.
