Hi guys

I'm going to lower my car but was wondering if I need to change shocks too or will I be ok?

The full lot will cost about 700 so to save costs till next year was just going to do springs

Any help appreciated

Thanks

That'll be fine. I changed my FR springs this week for H&R's and mine is still on standard shocks with 118k miles on the clock.

What springs and shocks are you thinking of Sue?

I was going to go for coil over at a grand but after thinking long and hard realising it will be a waste as I just use my car for basic everyday use I am going with eibach pro springs

Shocks I am still unsure few choices but that's why I'm seeing if for now I can get away with just springs and change shocks next year

I have H&R springs on standard shocks and they definitely improve the ride. More responsive to the road and superior in corners. How the car should leave the factory. The Eibach pro springs are only another 20mm drop from your current setup, not sure what improvement you will get from them.

What drop are h & r?

H&R 40mm front and rear. So 10mm difference between Eibach pro. I think the standard FR springs are 15mm lower than standard Leon. So you don't get much lowering from the pro springs,15mm not 20mm as I put in previous post. Most people go with the sportline springs or H&R for stance. I went with H&R because I wanted a level drop and not not nose heavy.

Ill haveto take a look, still in two minds to change springs or save and do shocks and springs

Difficult decisions. It depends on what you are wanting from your setup, ride quality, looks, drop.

I want ride comfort
But I want it lowered
I recently had a wheel refurb and it's just annoying me sitting so high lol

I would go with springs and see how you like it. If you do, just wait until you kill your shocks until you consider next setup. I would not go for the pro springs if you want a reasonable drop.

Yeah there is the eibach sport line with a bigger drop

Yes, far far better. As said the it is more responsive, takes bumps better and feels smoother. I went out for a very spirited drive tonight on some country roads and the difference was amazing compared to standard.
Get the H&R's from German EBay too. Only £130 delivered! That's where I got mine.

Definitely the cheapest way to vastly improve the feel of your car. The first time you go out on the new springs you just want to keep pushing it, whilst having a big grin on your face.
