Standard shocks will be okay, depends how many miles they have done really.
What springs and shocks are you thinking of Sue?
That'll be fine. I changed my FR springs this week for H&R's and mine is still on standard shocks with 118k miles on the clock.
I have H&R springs on standard shocks and they definitely improve the ride. More responsive to the road and superior in corners. How the car should leave the factory. The Eibach pro springs are only another 20mm drop from your current setup, not sure what improvement you will get from them.
H&R 40mm front and rear. So 10mm difference between Eibach pro. I think the standard FR springs are 15mm lower than standard Leon. So you don't get much lowering from the pro springs,15mm not 20mm as I put in previous post. Most people go with the sportline springs or H&R for stance. I went with H&R because I wanted a level drop and not not nose heavy.
Difficult decisions. It depends on what you are wanting from your setup, ride quality, looks, drop.
Ride any better?
I would go with springs and see how you like it. If you do, just wait until you kill your shocks until you consider next setup. I would not go for the pro springs if you want a reasonable drop.
Yes, far far better. As said the it is more responsive, takes bumps better and feels smoother. I went out for a very spirited drive tonight on some country roads and the difference was amazing compared to standard.
Get the H&R's from German EBay too. Only £130 delivered! That's where I got mine.
