No car with Summer tires will be better than any other car with Winter tires.
Obviously, a 4drive with Winter tires is better than a FWD with Winter tires, but a FWD with Winter tires is better than a 4drive with Winter tires.

This is not so common more south, but at least in the Nordics cars have 2 sets of wheels: one for Summer and one for Winter.
Even by law, you cannot drive with Summer tires in Winter.

You have to remember that winter tyres in UK and southern europe is not as good as we have in nordics. But maybe still, yes.
