Sooooo..... had the car month and a bit now. i am looking at putting the ground work in for a remap.

Do these engines react well putting a up rated filter in such as ram air etc.

If they do does anyone else have this and what do you have ??

Cheers lads

I have the same car as you, last I checked they don't do the proper ram air filters for diesel cars. Unless you know different? They only do panel filters and I have the pipercross one which doesn't really make any noticeable difference in sound or performance.

Just been looking at this

https://www.onlyrevo.com/product-de...kits/carbon-series-20-tdi-intake&engineid=200

also ram do a panel filter.

The carbon intake looks soooooo nice but i want to know if they will do gloss as you can buy gloss seperatley for the same cost.

I was told by a mechnic when I asked a similar question about putting an aftermarket filter for a tdi, and he said for diesel cars, a change to an aftermarket filter doesn't bring any benefits, unlike the petrol....but I couldn't remember the reason, something possibly like diesel has already all the air it needs etc...but don't quote me on that...

Same. I'd just stick with the paper filter. I did with my Diesel when I had it Revo mapped and custom mapped.

Tbh, if i was going to buy something like that it would be mainly for looks. At end of day ive got a diesel its never going to be a 500+ plus car is it.

You're right. I would do it for the same reason it's all about the looks
