Pretty standard tho you wouldn't buy and golf gti with tdi on the back would you!
Spoke to one of the guys down at Bartletts today and he reckons the very early Mk2 Cupras had LEON not CUPRA written on the back.
Problem solved?
Hopefully!
Going to do some more digging around to see if I can find another one like it.

Sorry but that isn't necessarily true. All Category C/ D means is someone has placed an insurance claim against the car and the insurance company chose to write it off. No indication of severity of damage. By the same measure a car could have been totalled and never had an insurance claim if the owner repaired themselves, although that is unlikely its possible! It's not likely the damage was heavy or else it would have shown up on the HPI as a cat D or C.
I agree with thisAs long as it looks okay, drives okay and everything is straight then i don't think its anything to worry about.
Everything I have found points to all cars saying CUPRA on the back.
Just had a quick look inside the hatchback and everything looks as I would imagine it should to my untrained eyes.
Got a mate in the bodywork game so will get him to check it out for me next time I am over his way.
Drives fine from what I can tell and everything else about the car seems in order so going to forget about it for now.
Might get some CUPRA badges to get it how it should be though.
Get the dealer to put the right badges on, saves you money at the end of the day.
As long as everything else is ok and you're happy with everything else about the car then go for it.
If you want to settle the finance on mine, you can have that, comes with Cupra on the back
