Hi mate,
I had a similar problem. In the end I ran a switched live to it by splicing into the switched live going to the cigarette lighter, it was easy enough to do. Unfortunately I don't have any pictures of it but if you read the manual it will tell you which wire it is coming from the fusebox.

It's in the car handbook somewhere. Can't remember which one of the many books it is.

This is all to do with the car having a CAN-Bus and no switched live.

There is a spare fuse in the fusebox on mine - I'll check which one tonight that is switched that I intend to use for my GPS etc.

You can get a CAN-Bus adapter (possibly from autoleads) that gives you switched and contant lives but I can't find it at the moment from googling...

Will try again later and update.

just looked at the cigarette lighter and it is switched live cheched it with a multimeter ignition on and off but it has 3 wires a brown one a black and red striped one and a small grey one which i presume is the illumination but which wire is the live and neutral out of them

Hi mate, where did you hide the blue mute box, and what did you remove to install the kit?
