I have it on my VW; I don't particularly like it and I usually switch it off.

I don't get the hate that some forum users have for this system - it worls great for myself, but some people hate it with a passion? I think it's not ao good with the dsg

My dad has it on his new motor..... The silence both unsettles me, and worst still it makes me think of enviromentalists, cyclists and "trustafarians" etc etc.... If it was my car i'd have to switch it off for the sake of my blood pressure. :)

Both my son and I have it on our FR 184's , I disable mine before I crank the starter motor and my son has disabled his permanently through the VCDS by setting an unrealistic battery voltage parameter. It adds unneeded additional wear to engine and starter components.

It does seem to have a mind of its own at times, for me the jury is still out.I cant quite understand on one hand it saves fuel, but equally does it not use more fuel when starting?

I don't particularly like it because on my 2016 DSG is switches off far too aggressively - often before I have come to a total stop. I find that it frequently switches off for a second or less, which cannot be good for fuel economy, emissions or the car.

I leave mine on it doesn't generally bother me, I'll turn it off when in queues when I'm stop/starting a lot as cba with it going on and off all the time.

Same with me, switches the engine off way too early.

I turn mine off as soon as I set off....... the Leon is ruddy brilliant on fuel as it is....... don't need something to save me another pence or two on a trip - if you are worried that much about fuel consumption, stick to public transport...

As soon as I have my first service in about 4-5 months, I'm hoping the dealer can turn this off... or even swop the way it works around, so if I want Stop/Start to be active I have to switch it ON.........

Nah they won't SEAT won't modify it at all.

It can be disabled on VCDS though.

The other point people are missing here is that it's not necessarily about saving a few pence, belching out fumes whilst sat in traffic isn't great for pollution levels
