Leon TDI 150 1st Service, Recs for Leeds Anyone?

Hi Guys,

I've checked out a few threads on servicing in the Leeds area, although looking for some more recent recommendations if anybody can oblige?

This will be the 1st (10k) service for my Leon TDI FR, and was going to book it in at JCT600 in Rawdon as I live just down the road. However, reading some of the threads it appears that JCT can be a little hit and miss (?), so I am just a tad apprehensive.

Any advice on recent experience with JCT or alternative dealers in this area much appreciated. Willing to travel within reason if I can get discount and good service.

Can anybody tell me how much I should be looking to pay for the 1st service?

Cheers
A.

My car has been into JCT at Bradford for some work and won't be going back. Parts dept are good but service was terrible.

Rawdon used to be bad IIRC but now the reviews do seem quite good. I have never used them myself.

A new dealership has opened up in Huddersfield now which has had a good review.

I used Ted Johnsons at Barnsley for my last service. They do a 10% discount scheme with uprated courtesy car etc for SCN members. Great service and well worth the extra distance. I will be going back again.

There's also Nidd Vale in Harrogate who would collect from you - I'm further away and they did me. They are very friendly but I do have a few doubts - I had to tell them about the fan problem that is very common and it's going back in again for a leak next for the second time. But much better than JCT Bradford - they won't be seeing my money again.

I went to a Skoda garage for my 1st service.

The actual customer service was the best I've ever experienced, it was £50 cheaper than SEAT (I think it was about £130), they gave me the leftover washer fluid & door grease stuff & even left a box of sweets on the passenger seat :)

Cheers for all your help guys, much appreciated. Have done some ringing around and have been quoted the following, thought you might be interested, f.y.i. ?

- JCT600 Rawdon, £145 (need to confirm if SCN discount applies)
- Nidd Vale Harrogate, £155 (no SCN discount)
- Ted Johnson Barnsley, £180 (+ 10% SCN discount)
- JCT600 Bradford, £199 (no SCN discount)

Don't quite get the price diff for the two JCT's

Swaying towards Rawdon to be honest, given price, location and other good recommendations. Will let you know how I get on.

Off the topic I know - but seeing a few Leons around here recently on the rat race to and from work (A65, Stanningley By-Pass). Platinum grey and a couple of black cupras towards Rawdon, and a yellow LCR giving it full beans on by-pass from Rodley towards Green Flag. Anybody on here? give us a

Cheers

The JCT Bradford matches with my experience, and it wasn't until I found out from other SCN members that I realised that I'd been violated in the worst way possible. Still they lose as they'll never see my business again!

Right then...

1st service all done and dusted. Called JCT Rawdon on Friday afternoon and spoke to Ian who booked me in for the following day, and also gave me an SCN discount, total bill just short of £140 all in :D

(Cheers Ian if you're reading!!)

Not wanting to tempt fate, but pleased to say no problems and happy with the service.

I did call the local Skoda garage (Canal Rd in Bradford), and spoke to a very nice chap called Mark who quoted me £130. Would have taken the car there if the difference in price was any greater, but live just down the road from Rawdon.

Still don't get the £60 price difference for JCT Bradford, but not going to lose any sleep over it!!

Anyway, cheers guys...hopefully the info I've posted will help you also.

You might well have seen my Arctic Grey TDI on the Stanningley Bypass rat-run on a morning/evening. Plate ends "MJO" (hence his nickname Mojo! :) ) so be sure to gimme a wave! :p

After getting quotes of £170 I managed to get myself booked in for my 1st service ay Ladas Drive, Belfast for £134.

They matched my cheapest quote as I bought the car there a few months ago, thats a discount of nearly £40 on their 1st quote.
