Leon wing mirrors

Hi just wondering what colour wing mirrors you have on your leons if their not the same colour?

I have a green Leon and thinking about going black rather than the silver?

Any one got any pics?

Black wing mirrors would definitely look much better on a green Leon than silver ones. My color is silver and my wing mirrors are stock silver, but I have been thinking of going black if I am going to paint the rims black.

Got Silver on a Track Grey car. Standard colour for FR mirrors though.

im picking mine up tomrrow from the body shop1 i habe a MK2 leon FR550 in silver with the btcc kit, had the roof, spoiler and wing mirrors done in gloss black ... mainly because my car was damaged in the hail storm but was considering a lot before hand

I went gloss black with mine, black will suit the green very well

im rubbish at navigating this site is there a gudie to take them off as i cant get mine off and i want to change them

If Pre FL, then use a credit card (old one) and work your way from the top around to the bottom, lifting it off. Should take about 5-10min each side but dont break any clips

I find the easiest way is to remove the mirror glass, then prize the clips that hold the cover from the back with a screwdriver, inside the mirror housing.

To remove the glass, just tilt the mirror down as low as it will go, get a plastic cycle tyre lever of wooden spatula or something, put it behind the top of the glass and prize it off. You have to undo the 2 wires that do the heating and thats it.

You can also oil/lube the spring in there that does the folding if you have it.

you can prize them off with a butter knife, thats how i done mine

Pre FL is before 59plate and FL is after that.

Big mirrors = FL
Small Tear Drop mirrors = Pre FL

Mine are silver "Like every FR" really want them sprayed gloss black along with a few other things. Gloss black is the way foward

I am going to wrap them with gloss black vinyl soon. My car's silver so hopefully it'll look good along with the glossy black roof vinyl I will be installing as well.
