As usual the forum is a see of hatred and anger hahaha so thought I would lighten the mood with some light hearted questions aimed at positivity

What is the one best thing about your Formentor ???

What option did you get that you are most happy with??

If no options taken what bit of tech is your favourite??

Best reaction to your car by a member of the public / passer by etc??

-Performance
-Travel assist or heated steering wheel ( which I thought would be a gimmick. But it's fab)
- a neighbours elderly mother came over and wanted to know what it was. She loved the look of it.

Keep positive, keep fast. But keep safe.

Great post and a welcome balance of objectivity. In order: -

- versatility, in Comfort mode it's a true Grand Tourer, in Cupra mode it's a real beast
- mine's a VZ Edition so no options, but favourite tech touch would be the blind spot indicators being integrated into the door LED strip - original yet effective
- a McLaren owner who came across me in my Formentor and wanted to know more about my "great looking motor" as he was looking for a new "everyday car" that was a little different, to replace his Audi S3, as the McLaren was his "weekend" runabout! He was well impressed and set to get one, don't know if he did or not as haven't come across him since.

I have recently taken ownership of a Leon VZ1 2.0 245 however have just spent a week on IOW with my dad's Formentor VZ2 310, and I do use it a lot in general...

- The colour. Desire Red - needless to say, my Leon was ordered the second I found out they had a red one at port. I will also mirror the comments about it being versatile - it can munch miles silently, return reasonable economy, but when you give it a tickle - the only word I can muster is Relentless. It goes like stink.
- Don't think it has options but the heated steering wheel is oddly amazing. Electric Tailgate is a great addition and just removes the need to pull it shut, but the virtual pedal isn't worth trying.
- Tech wise, it's not so much one thing but the inclusion of so much of it. It does have a very generous spec sheet, in fact most Cupra's do. I love the blind spot assist, and also your Sat Nav remembers your previous places and has a screen to show them all in a circle to just punch straight in. Very easy.
- When it pops & bangs, I'm pretty sure Autoglass stocks go up. All I can see is heads turning from behind. It picks a lot of attention in car parks and driving around, numerous times people have beeped and asked across a set of lights what it is.

Of course, it has been subject to the service campaign on the assist systems (still not done, which is bad of us) and it does every so often kick a tonne of errors up from the assist systems which clear themselves after a while. But overall, we both love driving it.

I'm waiting on a Cupra Leon VZ2 hybrid 245 I am also hoping its performance is in line with the petrol 245 ... fingers crossed!!

Different kind of user base if you ask me. The hybrid will have batteries to lug around, so whilst it may be 245 it won’t be quite as quick. That said, the opposite side of that coin is the ability to trundle around town in E-Mode, and maximise economy. It’ll be a great choice!

Did you test drive one??
No I didn’t … the dealer has one though and I trust his judgement having been a seat dealer for 10 plus years and cupra for as long as they have been doing them. I know it’ll take some getting used to but I want it for fuel economy first and foremost. Performance will be a bonus and used when some Pratt thinks he’s billy big balls in his a class or 1 series

I think they are a different kind of quick. Bet it’s a strange drive for the first few weeks but I’m hearing that the electric gives an instant boost that you don’t feel in a ICE

That heated steering wheel is amazing isn’t it. I thought the same as you that it wouldn’t be that warm but it toasts your hands up properly !!

Heated steering wheel is good, considering the fact, that some other brands removed it from options, but it doesn't make car special. I like the way it looks, but I would prefer ugly car that I like to drive, than nice looking one parked on the driveway unused.

This is the one thread that was supposed to be positive. You’ve complained everywhere else. Don’t bring it here.

After 4 weeks, here is my take:

Best option: panoramic sunroof. The only additional item I added. Looks great on my white car and helps to brighten to the interior. Swipe feature to open/close/tilt works well.

Surprising feature: the comfort of the car. I have mine in Sport and the gearbox in Sport (nice that it remembers the settings) and it’s just such a great ride. Even in hooligan mode, it’s not overly sprung or harsh.

The looks: I can’t believe somebody thought it looked like a Kia Sportage in another thread. I’ve had nothing but praise. People have slowed down on the motorway to look (when I’m in the middle lane), beeped at me in traffic with thumbs up and neighbours stopping to take a look.

I’ve taken to beeping and waving at other Formentor’s on the road

It is a great car to drive, nothing you can get for the same money that has the level of performance , 4wd, spec and kerb appeal. Is capable of pottering around or decent blasting. A bit of tweaking of the home screen to provide quick access to heating controls and Driver Aids and you can easily live with the infotainment 'features'....certainly until the long awaited fix is delivered.

At a BMW garage with my daughter and a potential X2 buyer asked what my car was. Had a five minute craic with them and off they went to find a dealer. Hope I get the commission (y)
