OK folks, did a search and nothing really cropped up within the Mk2 Leon Section...

A change of rimmage has been crossing my mind lately. Living in N.I. the general treand has been replica rims including the likes of Audi, VW and Mercedes. A few Porsche ones too not to mention BBS, and IMO its been completely outplayed and i want to stay away from these. Nothing at all wrong with these and I think the majority of them look very well on our cars but I just want to be a little more adventurous/different :)

So I arrived at the conclusion I should maybe look into seeing what alloys are available that might shed a few kg's but I also want them to look decent and just as importantly... be easy cleaned and maintained!!

Therefore I ask you, what is there out there for me?

Have to be 18" i will not go to 17" as they look lost.

Pictures along with your ideas would be great!

Cheers in advance :D

Team Dynamic pro race 1.2s ~

But maybe a bit common as alot of people have started getting them now, saving quite alot of unsprung weight at only 9.0kg per wheel.

you could also look at pro race 1.3's ~ http://www.teamilluminata.com/Shop/TeamDynamics/prorace13.jpg , which are similar bit slightly differant and weighing 9.8kg per wheel

im biased, but Team Dynamics Pro-Race 1.2s all the way. I know there are others about, from the likes of wolfrace etc. But i think black would look awesome against a bright coloured leon. Then again im biased ;) lol

beat me by 1 minute lol ;) .. but yeah. there ya go, proof of the popularity :D Plust shows off your brake calipers lovely. Btw nice set-up Owen :D looks awesome

Pro Race 1.2's are out as they just dont do it for me im afraid :( Ive tried to give them a chance but I still havent been able to make myself want a set!

depends on how much £££ you have to spend, TD's are best value for money aswell as being very light but if you want something that looks good aswell as being very light it is probebly going to cost you over £1000 easy

I dont have any really budget as such, time period is also not decided upon, I merely want to get an idea of whats available in the market. I do know those carbon fibre alloys at over 5K are just way over budget, whatever the budget may turn out to be

Spending that wee bit extra to aquire something out of the ordinary and break from the N.I. Norm of "pick the same rim as your man down the road because it looks good and everyone will want to be your friend" is not beyond me though. I would be quite willing to save that wee bit longer to afford a nice set of unique rims. :)

Maybe I should open the thread up to any alloy that looks well and doesnt fall in to the "Most used" catagories...? Im not dead set on weight lose...

I wanted to put turnins on mine but i think i'm just going to have mine refurbished and stick some spacers on, you can also look at OZ racing, there is a new version of the super t, a le mans edition, then i would also look at compomtives and wolfrace now have some light weight rims
