Hi all a hate an 04 reg Leon cupra tdi pd 150
While on holiday in Cornwall the car went into limp mode. Took the car to a local garage
And fault came up as boost value solenoid they replaced the valve car was ok up till last Friday
Car gone back into limp mode with error code p0246 turbo charger waste gate solenoid a high .
Been searching the web and getting a bit confused as to where that is as people say its the n75 valve
If so it was the boost value which i had changed so not sure what else it could be.

Hi,

The boost valve is the N75.

The very first thing to check is 100% of the vacuum pipes that run between the valves, solenoids and egr for leaks or splits

Did you get a check engine light come up on the dash before and did you or the mechanic run a VAGCOM/ Scan for codes on the car?

If youre looking at the engine bay the N75 is directly in the middle right at the back of the engine bay.

checked all the pipes and they look good, changed the n75 valve to took it out for a spin but eingine light came back on as it has been either off or coming on since ther problem first came up. fault codes are p0246 turbocharger wastegate solenoid A high input/short to b+.
p0243 turbocharger wastegate solenoid A open/short circuit to ground
p0230 fuel pump primary circuit.
this car has now done 154k engine is a ARL version

Morning all had the car checked again and was told the n 75 valve needed programming. Anyone ever heard of this. Just about to take it out for a spin again. Fingers x

Try cleaning the turbo, its the same code if the vnt vanes are sticking, just put this up on another post.

Search google for "vnt turbo cleaning mr muscle"

I did it with mine as i kept going into limp mode and it worked brilliantly

I just undid the 3 bolts that hold the exhaust on the turbo and then sprayed the cleaner in, left it for 20 mins, sprayed it again and bolted it all back up. Then took it for a hard drive, the **** that came out the back was ridiculous! Took me less than an hour to do it all, and for.2 quid has made a massive difference.

You use the whole can in it. Which is the best way to tackle it from top or underneath

I used maybe 1/4 of the can, i defo think from underneath, 2 of the bolts are easy, ones a bit fiddly. Get some wd40 on them and let them soak first.

To get the stuff in, get a can of wd40 and take off the nozzle (it fits on the can of my muscle perfectly) then use the wee red straw so that you can squirt the cleaner through the turbine blades. The vnt mechanism is behind the exhaust turbine, spray it till it starts coming out of the top of the turbine, leave for 15 mins, move the turbine round with a screwdriver and then do it all again. Also try working the actuator rod the second time, you should note it freeing off!

Hope this helps
