Lock/Unlock horn chirp

I tried it and VAG COM wouldn't communicate with the control module i wanted it to i.e. the bit that houses all the features you can change.

it communicates with the engine control module just not the one i want. Any ideas?

PS - I have got the full version.

Think it was module 46............was a couple of weeks ago i tried..........just haven't been able to get on for a bit.

Any ideas at all anyone?

Tried it on my Leon waddy think I had the same thing was only my first day of trying though and the weather has been awful ever since. Read on another site or maybe on this one disconnect the battery for a few minutes the computer reboots and normally the module is available to communicate. Worth a try maybe

Just try it, if it dont work but the original values back in....EASY!!!

As I said, I can't try it at the moment as I no longer have my laptop. I'll try it when I can.

Some modules are only available when the ignition is on but the engine is not started. Some others are only available when the engine is started. Atleast, thats what we found on a Skoda a couple of months ago.

Only in Germany iirc, On our VAS 5051 diag equipment it flashes up a warning about legalities when you try and activate it..lol

Any car that has full european type approval from 2004 onwards will have a silent lock / unlock, this part of the noise abatment directive. You are also limited on the power of the lights and their orientation that you may flash to signal the lock / unlock. However it is NOT illegal for a customer to reactivate this feature once the car has been sold to them!

I had the auto lock and auto unlock feature on my Mk4 VW GTi which is handy if u have kids stops the buggers getting out! However is a pain when u got mates in the car etc who want to get out before u've switched the car off or ur dropping them off as they don't realise the door is locked and try and open it and almost break the door handle off!

Also, had the chirp on lock and unlock but i ended up taking it off Unlock because its too noisey.

I have not yet tried to change the sound from UK to German etc. I was hoping somebody on here would have done it to see what its like. Saves me getting the Notebook out?!
